The 57th FITCE Congress was held in MediaCityUK and hosted by the University of Salford over the 6th and 7th September 2018. A total of 75 delegates were able to enjoy five keynote presentations, fifteen technical papers organised into four sessions, a technical visit and closing panel discussion. Delegates were welcomed to the University of Salford by the Vice Chancellor, Professor Helen Marshall and the Congress was formally opened by the FITCE President, Professor Andy Valdar. Both were introduced by the FITCE Congress Technical Panel chair, Professor Nigel Linge from the University of Salford.
Welcome and Formal Opening
Professor Nigel Linge from the University of Salford welcomed delegates to the 57th FITCE Congress, outlined the usual housekeeping necessities and then introduced Professor Helen Marshall, Vice Chancellor of the University of Salford who formally welcomed everyone to the University. Nigel then introduced Professor Andy Valdar, President of FITCE, who formally opened the 57th FITCE Congress.
